Why ubergrapher.com site ?

When I started driving for Uber part time more than 15 months ago, i could not imagine that i could end up with an instagram account with thousands of followers, a Youtube channel, published a photo book and now a domain web site. Many riders asked me what made me to start taking photos of my passengers and my answer has been that i discovered that beyond taking buildings and trees my riders has become an interesting subject group since they changes daily and it serves as a photo memories of the people i met. ( 99.8% of the time i do not see my riders forever ) As i am driving after work mostly at night, i could not really see the rider's faces until i look at the photos i have taken of some of them. It helps me to remember the short conversations i had with many of the interesting people when i started videoing the sessions with them and share it on my Youtube channel. Many of the riders can really express themselves that a photo / caption of them is not enough. The Youtube serves as a platform for normal day to day people to speak out about different topics in their own words. Most of the time they just talked about a little about themselves but sometimes they gave more insights to certain topics that i feel is good to share. It is a little like James Corden's carpool celebrity but for the normal people.

Few months ago the thought of having a domain website came up as i wanted to consolidate and control the way the information is presented. Since people already talking to me during the ride and do not mind appear in front of the Youtube camera, I think there is a chance that people would like to contribute to various hot topics that is of interest to the general public like housing, transport, food and eduction. I plan to get contributors to write about these topics and let riders give their thoughts as well. Unlike most forums that people speaks behind the keyboards mine captures the real faces that gives those comments. It also serves as an online shop for me as i have plan to sell books and prints of the photos i have taken. Well this is just a plan but I hope that the site will be entertaining enough for you to come back frequently.
